Dr. Valentine and his wife have lived in Maryland since 1970. They have four children and four grandchildren. In addition to spending quality time with his family, he is interested in music and digital photography.
Education: After Dr. Valentine earned his B.S. degree from Union College (New York) and his M.D. from Tufts (Boston), he received training in Internal Medicine at Ohio State University and the U.S.V.A. in Boston. He specialized in Allergy and Immunology at Harvard Medical School, at the Massachusetts General Hospital, the Brigham Hospitals and the Lahey Clinic. He served two years active duty in the USAF (Medical Corps, Strategic Air Command) in Michigan, and then joined the medical faculty at Harvard.
Dr. Valentine currently serves as a Professor of Medicine on the faculties of both Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland medical schools. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and Allergy and Immunology. He has authored more than 150 scientific articles and book chapters, and he has lectured throughout the United States, Europe and the former Soviet Union. One special area of his interest and expertise is allergy to insect stings.
